Therion – szwedzki zespół muzyczny założony w 1987 r. przez Christofera Johnssona. Zespół zadebiutował w 1991 r. albumem Of Darkness... należącym do gatunku death metal.
Późniejsze dokonania łączą w sobie elementy muzyki klasycznej i opery wraz z szeroko pojętym nurtem metalowym. Od wydania albumu Theli (1996) ich muzykę klasyfikuje się jako symfoniczny metal z wpływami heavy metalu i progresywnego rocka.
Inspiracją dla nazwy zespołu stał się album To Mega Therion zespołu Celtic Frost. Teksty utworów nawiązują najczęściej do tematów mitologicznych;

Album ten został wydany z okazji 10 lecia istnienia Theriona. Pierwsze siedem utworów to przede wszystkim covery, natomiast pozostałe utwory napisane zostały przez Christofera na potrzeby filmu 'The Golden Embrance', z tym, że oryginalne wersje to utwory 12-18, natomiast utwory 8-11 to przeróbki tychże wersji (dodano gitarę, perkusję).
