"Madonna, właśc. Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone (ur. 16 sierpnia 1958 w Bay City, stan Michigan) – amerykańska piosenkarka i aktorka włoskiego pochodzenia, jedna z najbardziej znaczących kobiet w świecie muzyki, nazywana "Królową Popu". W 1983 roku Madonna wydała swój pierwszy album studyjny zatytułowany Madonna. Od tego momentu do dzisiaj piosenkarka utrzymuje się na szczytach list przebojów, nagrywa utwory w wielu gatunkach muzycznych i przybiera różne wizerunki. Artystka słynie z kontrowersyjnych zachowań. Jest laureatką 7 nagród Grammy. Według Księgi Rekordów Guinnessa, wydanej w 2007 roku, Madonna jest najlepiej zarabiającą piosenkarką w historii muzyki pop. Madonna jest także rekordzistką w kategorii najbardziej dochodowej kobiecej trasy koncertowej wszech czasów (The Confessions Tour). W 2008 roku trasa The Sticky & Sweet Tour pobiła ten rekord, zarabiając 281,6 mln dolarów. 10 marca 2008 roku artystka została włączona do słynnej Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."
